The Dissident is our newest concept, a light, compact and east to carry defensive Pikal that comes with it a little secret. This is a knife for those who want to be discreet, but prepared.
The blade of the Dissident is made from ~4mm / 0.15″ thick 80Crv2 steel and ground into a single edge Pikal, perfect for average defensive use and at just around 3″ in blade length it is effective and easy to carry. The handle is a neutral profile, with enough retention built into the frame to give you a secure grip and positive index on the draw, without forcing your grip, or dictating orientation. The Dissident can be held in the reverse or forward grip comfortably.
The handle scales of the Dissident are where it begins to get more interesting. This is our first real attempt to create a removable handle scale, and with that the Dissident reveals its secret. The skeletonized tang of the blade provides a hidden space beneath the removable scale for discerning users to secrete items. We won’t be so bold as to recommend any items you should keep there, but the creative option is there for you to use.
This is the second ever made Dissident concept, and is entirely hand made. The blade is finished in a matte black Cerekote and the handle scales are a simple combination of Carbon Fiber and Copper which have been shaped in our Kobayashi Style for a simple, elegant look. The knife is sheathed with a fold over Kydex sheath which can be fitted with IWB clips or Soft Loops as you see fit.
