The Sever was inspired by the now legendary Clinch Pick, but has undergone several evolutions to become what it is now… a defensive knife in a small and compact package, making it ideal for every day defensive carry and a formidable combative tool in its own right.
The Sever comes in both the Double Edge or Single Edge blade configuration, and is usable in both forward and pikal orientations quite readily. Like all our defensive knives the Sever has been considered carefully in its role, and has been given blade designed to suit that job. Made from thick stock the blade’s profile and point is robust enough to withstand the rigours of combat.
The handle shape is probably the biggest influence taken from the Clinch Pick. The short, stubby style handle gives the user a very secure grip, while still being very compact and easy to conceal carry. The handle scales are shaped to ensure that it isn’t too rounded in cross-section, and with texture applied, ensuring it doesn’t rotate easily in the hand, a criticism of these style of handles. As importantly, its very comfortable to carry Inside the Waist Band (IWB), or can be easily mounted for Outside the Waistband (OWB) carry using Soft Loops
This is Sever number SV068 and is dressed in a classic, favourite combo of materials and finishes. The handle pairs a Karelian Birch Burl scale, softly contoured with a subtle palm swell with a black G10 Liner. The blade is a single edge variant with a swedge and is finished in matte black Cerakote. This knife if finished with a fold over style Kydex Sheath and can be fitted out with Soft Loop or DCC HLR Clip mounts.
This is a very popular configuration for the Sever, and is among the most requested handle for Custom Severs, making it a formidable, easy to carry EDC Defensive Knife with some subtle interesting character.
