the Sever, a nasty little blade that lives up to its name despite its small stature...

/ˈsɛvə/ - divide by cutting or slicing, especially suddenly and forcibly.

The Sever is a nasty little blade which lives up to its name despite it’s small stature. A response to some of my followers asking for something a little smaller and more concealable, the Sever is based on the popular Clinch Pick style blade.

Unlike a typical Clinch Pick, the Sever is double edged, adding that extra dynamic, with a very subtle hooked reverse edge. Though only around 2.5″ long the edge is sharp and the hooked nature and indexing of the blade means it acts very much like a raptors claw. It just feels like it wants to slit.

The handle geometry is typical of the Clinch Pick style, with a deep choil and large palm swell. The handle finish is also contoured so that its narrow towards the choil and swells out towards the butt. This geometry makes for both a very ergonomic and comfortable grip, but as importantly its also very secure. It’s stubby nature means no parts of the handle protrude from the user’s fist either, and a total length of 6.1″ means its rather compact.

As mentioned the indexing of the blade is claw-like, and held in the reverse grip it wants to rip and draw-cut. It is equally comfortable in forward/hammer grip and would be a formidable stabbing blade.

The Sever comes with a quality Kydex sheath which can be mounted either using a soft loop or metal clip which can be worn with or without a belt.

Synthetic Scales

Black G10 or Carbon Fiber scales are fitted to the blade.

Scales are shaped and contoured ergonomically in either of our unique patterns, Tsuka or Tsunami.

Exotic Wood Scales

Hardwoods or Stabilized Exotic Burls are used to create exquisite scales. The types of wood available for making scales varies and depends on what is available at the time. Typically species like African Blackwood, Ebony, American Walnut and Wild Olive are what is preferred, however more exotic and figured varieties like Oak Burl, and Spalted species are also available. It’s best to ask if you have a favourite.

Exotic Wood Scales are shaped and contoured ergonomically in our unique Tsuka or Tsunami Pattern, given a simple grooved pattern, or polished smooth. Classic Checkering is also available as an option on certain hardwoods.

Traditional Silk Tsukamaki Wrap

A complete traditional Japanese Tsukamaki style wrap uses Japanese Silk Ito cord which is wrapped over a layer of coloured Samegawa, traditional sting ray leather used on Japanese swords. The Tsukamaki wrap is executed in a traditional Hineri-Maki pattern before terminating at the end of the handle.

The Silk Ito is sealed with clear resin to weather proof and cement it in place and provides a long lasting grip.

Silk Ito Colour Options: Black, Brown, Navy, Burgundy, Gold.

Samegawa Colour Options: Natural White, Antiqued White, Black or Crimson/Black.

Standard Kydex Sheath
High quality heat formed Kydex Sheath with either a Soft Loop mounting or metal belt clip. Soft Loops and Clips can be interchanged as desired by the user, and be mounted in either left handed or right handed configurations. The standard sheath can also be set up as a Static Line mount.
