Small, light and seemingly delicate - much like the flowering Cherry Blossom

SAKURA

/səˈkʊərə/ - a flowering Japanese Cherry Tree

The Sakura was conceptualised as a defensive knife for women originally. Designed to be on the smaller side, easier to hold and conceal carry for persons on the smaller side of the scale.

The Sakura is lightweight and small, but no less effective. The Elmax steel its made of produces an extremely tough and robust blade that is well capable of its task. The Sakura is designed to be used in reverse grip and is ergonomically suited to the Pikal methods, but in a pinch can be used in forward grip as well. The point is offset, unlike a traditional pikal blade, and although it can still definitely be used effectively in reverse grip stabs, the offset also allows it to be effective in raking motions.

The Sakura blade is available in two configurations, a standard Single Edge which is adequately sufficient for its task, or Single Edge with a Mune ridge for added penetration without sacrificing the integral strength of the point.

Because of its smaller size the Sakura is quite easy to conceal carry. We would recommend going with a fold over Kydex Sheath to keep the profile low. Each Kydex Sheath is pressed by hand and is unique to each individual knife. The Sakura can also be supplied with a Pocket Sheath for more unconventional carry methods, as well as a Static Line sheath for mounting on different platforms.

The Sakura is finally finished by hand on our Japanese Water Stones to produce a fine, mirror polished edge on the blade, ensuring that it cuts clean.

The Silk Ito is sealed with clear resin to weather proof and cement it in place and provides a long lasting grip. Leather Ito is sometimes also used, although less common, and is left in its natural state un-coated.
