As we have already talked about via our social media, in 2023 we have decided to return fully to our custom knife making origins.
We will primarily focus on making custom, made to order, knives. This means that there will be fewer knives made for immediate purchase. Our primary focus will shift to the custom orders.
The reason for this is that we want to be fully focussed on creating knives that we can be proud of. Chasing deadlines and making knives to be sold off the shelf means that we are often rushed. This isn’t how we want to continue working. Our aim has always been to make the best knives possible, and that often requires a resource which has become increasingly rare – time.
As a two-person operation, we have a limited number of quality knives we can make in a year with just our two sets of hands. We have deduced, through experience, that in realistic terms we can only produce around 360 Tier 2 Custom Knives in a year, at the high quality level that we want to achieve. This means that we have had to make some difficult decisions regarding which models we make next year, and how many of each.
We believe this breakdown in numbers will give those seeking a practical knife what they need, and collectors the opportunity to grab a rare knife. Knowing exactly how many of any given knife will be made in 2023 will openly show its rarity upfront.
While 360 knives may sound like a lot, the average custom maker usually produced between 200 – 250 knives a year. Some of our knives, like Tsukamaki variants are extremely complex builds which can take up to 8 weeks to complete. So with that in mind, the number is actually still quite ambitious for just 2 people to handle.

Masterworks Edition Knives – Single, one-of pieces built to the highest specification
- Four Horsemen Series: War

Collaborations:
We have also committed to doing at least 2 collaborations in 2023. We have already got one lined up with a top US custom knifemaker which we are very excited about, and another in the pipeline.
We don’t want to give too much away just yet, but we are certain these knives will cause quite a stir in the collector circles. Keep and eye on our social media for more about these!
Orders for 2023 will open on December 1st and production will begin earnestly in January to start producing the highly anticipated custom knives. The special edition runs will most likely become available to order later in the year, only once the blades have been produced and are available to be fitted to customer’s requirements.
Masterworks Editions will only be available once the knives are fully complete. These pieces will be auctioned for sale during the course of the year. Keep an eye on our social media for updates on these special builds.
