Sicarii, the "Dagger-Wielder" from the Roman "Secare". The secretive Jewish sect who adopted the cloak and dagger...

The Sicarii (Modern Hebrew: סיקריים siqari'im) - meaning the ``dagger wielders``.

The Sicarii is a blade which takes a heavy influence from Persian blade styles, in specific the gentle upswept point which culminates in a reinforced point.

Persian style knives from history were known for the integral reinforced point, which was intended to help pierce the armour of the day. The Sicarii offers this feature as well, despite the fact that we are no longer likely to encounter armoured foes, it can be quite surprising to some how well ordinary clothing materials can do at stopping edge and point weapons. The Sicarii is adept at penetrating even tougher materials like leather, and the reinforced single edge point can be quite devastating against harder organic materials like bone as well.

The Sicarii blade is offered in two variants, the single edge with a reinforced point, and a double edge variant which offers the user some more versatility as it can be used much more effectively in reverse grip techniques.

The handle of the Sicarii is ergonomically shaped and very secure with both a finger choil, as well as a distinct hook over the butt of the handle. Whether you choose a synthetic scale for the handle, or something with a bit more flair, the Sicarii looks good and more importantly works flawlessly for those wanting a forward grip fighter that also has the versatility to be used in reverse grips.

The Sicarii comes with its own bespoke hand pressed Kydex Sheath. Due to the size of this model we would recommend a full size Kydex Sheath, however Fold-Over versions can also be done if you prefer. We also offer Pocket Hook sheaths for more unconventional carry methods, and Static Lines for mounting onto gear or equipment.

The Sicarii is finished with great care on our Japanese Water Stones, honing by hand a mirror polished edge which will cut cleanly and effortlessly.

The Sicarii is made with a variety of handle configuration and materials.

Traditional Tsukamaki

A complete traditional Japanese Tsukamaki style wrap uses Japanese Silk Ito or leather Ito cord which is wrapped over a layer of colour lacquered Samegawa, traditional sting ray leather used on Japanese swords. The Tsukamaki wrap is executed in a traditional Hineri-Maki pattern before terminating at the end of the handle in traditional termination knots through the Kashira.

The Silk Ito is sealed with clear resin to weather proof and cement it in place and provides a long lasting grip. Leather Ito is sometimes also used, although less common, and is left in its natural state un-coated.
